AHA BLS Classes are designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units. American Heart Association CPR Certification is required for all Medical Students/Providers as well as CPR Renewal Classes every two years.
• Key changes reflecting the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
• Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions,
use of a bag-mask device and use of an (AED) for the Adult, Child and Infant Populations.
• Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest.
• Basic Airway management.
• Choking Relief for the Adult, Child and Infant.
Effective communication as a member and leader of a Basic Life Support team.
Times vary based on the number of students participating in the class. This range is from 3-4 hours with an average BLS Class time of 3.5 hours.
